I am inspired by chairs abandoned behind buildings; garden chairs weathered and decaying, heartfelt words on memorial benches, thoughtfully placed to admire a favourite view. 

I find them fascinating, the narrative behind them, the impression left behind and the questions they provoke: who sits here and where are they now?

I am exploring the idea of grand or beautiful chairs in hidden or decaying urban spaces and the human need to make the spaces we find ourselves in comfortable.
